Learn the fundamentals, no prior Balboa experience required, and no need to bring a partner.
Whether you are switching roles or trying to learn a new dance, these classes are friendly to all levels of Balboa dancers.

Intermediate Balboa

This class is for experienced Balboa dancers who have been dancing Balboa regularly, for at least a year. Balboa dancers should be able to smoothly dance to songs between 150 - 180 bpm.

Dancers should be able to dance the down hold basic, up hold basic, come-around, toss-out, lollies, and in-and-outs.

Dancers should feel at ease dancing to songs such as: My Blue Heaven - Artie Shaw


Advanced Balboa

This class is for experienced Balboa dancers who have been dancing Balboa regularly for a few years. Balboa dancers should be able to smoothly dance to songs between 190 - 230 bpm and want to be challenged.

Dancers should easily be able to do the down hold basic, up hold basic, come-around, toss-out, lollies, and in-and-outs. This class will help you build your vocabulary and add style and variations to the dance.

Dancers should feel at ease dancing to songs such as: Jamaica Jam - Teddy Powell Orchestra


Advanced+ Balboa

A level check will be conducted during the first class.


This class is designed for seasoned Balboa dancers who have been dancing regularly for several years and are ready for a serious challenge. You should feel comfortable dancing smoothly and confidently to tempos in the 200+ bpm range and be eager to push your musicality, technique, and creativity even further.

Participants in this track should already have mastery of key fundamentals including the down hold and up hold basics, come-around, toss-out, lollies, and in-and-outs. This class will focus on expanding your vocabulary, refining your personal style, and introducing complex variations and concepts to elevate your dancing.

Dancers should feel at ease dancing to songs such as: Jumpin' In The Woodside - Count Basie


Slow Balboa

Slow Balboa is all about grace, connection, and musicality. It's a beautiful and expressive dance style that will take your Balboa skills to a whole new level. Whether you're new to Slow Bal or looking to refine your technique, our dedicated instructors are here to guide you through this mesmerizing dance form

Slow Balboa is danced to slow music usually under 100 bpm, which allows more time for intricate footwork and variations.
